On 27 March 2020, Ireland was placed into full lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. All non-essential journeys were banned for two weeks and public gatherings outside family homes were prohibited.
Worse, a large number of retail stores, along with gyms and sports facilities, were instructed to close their doors and cocooning was introduced, which saw those aged 70+ confined to their homes.
And here we are. A lost year later. Where the hell did it go? I know where mine went. Down the toilet financially, as my art school is one of those businesses that was forced to close.
On the other hand, it’s given me the time and space to simply paint, and paint, and paint some more. The end result of this will be announced shortly.
In the meantime, what about you? What have you been doing all this time? Answers on comment please!
