Art Classes

I have been teaching oil painting techniques to adult students at my studio in Clontarf for many years now.  My aim is to pass on the knowledge and experience I have acquired over 40 years working as a professional artist. 

This includes information on materials, inspiration, composition, use of colour etc., right through to advice on varnishing, framing, and selling paintings.

I have a wide range of expertise in different genres of painting, including portraiture and figures, landscape and still life.  

I consult each student individually and encourage both creativity and technical excellence. This is done through one-to-one tuition and practical demonstration.

Every student works on their own painting project and I welcome beginner, intermediate, and advanced adult artists.

 

Tuition is for oil painting only and very relaxed and informal.  Some of my past students have gone on to professional art careers, while all have enjoyed the pleasures of painting with oils.
