For many years, I’ve been teaching oil painting techniques to adult students at my studio in Clontarf. My goal is to impart the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered over my 40-year career as a professional artist.

This instruction covers a wide array of topics, including materials, inspiration, composition, colour usage, and more, all the way to tips on varnishing, framing, and selling paintings.

I have a broad expertise in various painting genres, such as portraiture, figures, landscapes, and still life.

I offer individualized consultations to each student, fostering both creativity and technical proficiency through one-on-one tuition and practical demonstrations.

Every student works on their own painting project, and I welcome adult artists of all levels—beginners, intermediates, and advanced.

The tuition, exclusively focused on oil painting, is conducted in a very relaxed and informal environment.

Some of my former students have pursued professional art careers, while all have found joy in the art of oil painting.
